Aromatherapy, or the use of Essential Oils India, can have a surprising effect on your emotions. We all know that scents can affect us emotionally. We use perfumes and colognes to make us more attractive. We associate memories with different smells. Newborns learn to identify their mothers by smell before their eyes develop enough to focus. Diffusing essential oils (spreading their scent throughout a room) can have a profound and almost immediate effect on your mood. Scent is an important part of our lives. The limbic system is considered the oldest system in the human body. The limbic system is made up of several organs that together process odors and determine how the body responds. These responses often involve emotions, particularly those related to survival, such as fear and the reproductive urge. The limbic system is also closely linked to deciding which memories to store and how to remember them. The hypothalamus is also part of the limbic system. It plays an important role in monitoring and regulating hormones.

Essential oils have fragrances that activate the limbic system through smell. Essential oils also have the ability to affect our hormones. They can help us remove unwanted toxins from the body. It may help relieve pain. They can carry oxygen to the cells of our body. Essential oils applied to the skin can be detected in the blood in as little as 20 seconds! Essential oil molecules are smaller than our cells. They penetrate our body and affect us at the cellular level. There are 10 major systems in our body. Integumentary (skin), skeletal, muscular, nervous, endocrine (hormonal), digestive, respiratory, circulatory, urinary, reproductive, and essential oils can affect them all!
